The Chick-fil-A Secret Menu: Yummy Ways to Spice Up Your Next Meal
If you live near a Chick-Fil-A location, you’re probably already aware of the deliciousness within. From their tasty chicken sandwiches to their thick milkshakes, you’re bound to leave a happy eater. Plus, their prices aren’t ridiculously high either.
But today I want to share the Chick-Fil-A secret menu to make your dining experience even tastier. I plan on adding new items to this secret menu as I discover them…so please pass along any menu items you might be aware of and I’ll test them out.
Here’s the Full Chick-fil-A “Secret Menu”:
So far I know about 16 secret items that you can order, but I’m hoping to grow this list to at least 20.
Let me know in the comments if I’m missing any.
Biscuit with Sausage Gravy
According to a comment from reader Brad, when dining for breakfast don’t be afraid to ask for a “biscuit with sausage gravy”.
He said you might have to wait a few minutes for them get the gravy ready…but TOTALLY worth it.
Blueberry Cheesecake Milkshake
Simply a slice of blueberry cheesecake blended into a vanilla milkshake. Yes, please.

Spicy Char (Spicy Grilled Chicken Sandwich)
If you like a little charbroiled flavor in your chicken sandwich, ask for a Spicy Char chicken sandwich.
You’ll get a grilled breast, with the spicy sauce, in lieu of the traditional fried chicken breast.
It’ll probably reduce the calorie of the sandwich significantly as well.
PRO TIP: HEADS UP ON THE SPICY CHAR
I was told by a Chick fil A employee that the Spicy Char is being phased out at many locations. She said that it takes quite a bit longer to get the chicken grilled to fulfill the special request and they won’t do it if they’re busy.
Buffalo Chicken Sandwich
This one sounds delicious. Just ask for a spicy chicken sandwich topped off with the Chick-Fil-A buffalo sauce.
Be warned, this sucker is hot and will make you tear up.
Chicken Quesadilla
Order it by name and get a delicious queso with chopped chicken breast, cheese, and tasty peppers.
Cookie Milkshake
Nicely ask the employee behind the counter to blend a cookie into your milkshake.
Trust me, the result is pure heaven.
Dog Biscuits
Yes, you read that correctly.
Did you know that most Chick-Fil-A locations have dog biscuits behind the counter to hand out for free the next time you bring your 4-legged friend with you?
True enough, ask for one if you don’t believe me.
Then hit Starbucks on the way home and grab a free Pup Cup.

SOME ITEMS ARE LOCATION DEPENDENT
I had several employees tell me that some “secret menu” items are very much location dependent. This includes the mocha cream cold brew, frosted sunrise, and “well done” crisscut fires. So your mileage will vary when ordering a few of these items.
Free Ice Dream
When you order a kids meal, ask for a free soft-serve ice cream instead of the cheap toy.
Top it with strawberry or chocolate toppings for a little more tastiness.
Fried Chicken Club
Simply substitute a fried patty for the grilled chicken breast. You’ll probably add 300 calories, but whose counting…
Frosted Sunrise
This one has gained a bit of a cult following in recent years and for good reason as it sounds delicious.
Order the Frosted Sunrise and you’ll basically get a frosted lemonade but it’s made with orange juice and vanilla ice cream.
Some locations will require you to buy the small bottle of OJ separately, and some will actually have the half-gallon jugs of OJ that they can use to make it.
Grilled Cheese
Similar to the secret menu at In-N-Out Burger, Chick-fil-A also has a tasty grilled cheese sandwich on their secret menu.
They’ll even let you add bacon, vegetables, and condiments to make it a legit sandwich and not something for little kids.
Market Salad With Strips
I love when you guys write in with new secret menu items that I’ve never heard of.
So when blog reader Chuck chimed in with something called the Market Salad with Strips I was very intrigued.
In his own words, “Market Salad with strips (breaded chicken) instead of the usual grilled. My wife requested this as a special and they complied. I have since discovered that any CFA can make this and it even has a distinct code on the receipt (MktSld Strp).”
Thanks Chuck for the tip, this sounds a healthy, but yummy, alternative to their sandwiches.
Mocha Cream Cold Brew
A couple years ago the mocha cream cold brew popped up on some Chick-fil-A menus for a limited time then went away…not sure why because it’s delicious.
The good news is you can still order it by asking for their Cold Brew as your base, then add the “milkshake base”, followed by a couple pumps of chocolate.
If you like your coffee sweet, you’ll love it for sure.
Veggie Wrap
This is essentially a Cool Wrap but you substitute the grilled chicken for beans, corn, and tomatoes.
So you end up with a rolled up flaxseed flour flat bread stuffed with lettuce, blend of Monterey jack and cheddar cheese, beans, corn, and tomatoes.
Sounds absolutely perfect for a vegetarian.
Bacon Mac’n Cheese
Just order the Mac and Cheese off the regular menu but ask them for some bacon crumbles on the side.
Mix the bacon in yourself and buckle your seatbelts cuz your headed for Yumsville, USA.
Oreo in Your Frosted Coffee
I had a CFA employee drop the news that if you ask for Oreo pieces in your frosted coffee they will happily do it for ya and he said it’s “very good”.
Ya, I bet it is.
They also said you can do the same with the frosted lemonade and ask for strawberry in it.
Root Beer Float
They’ll happily add some vanilla ice cream to your frosty root beer giving you a tasty RBF.
Most locations will do this for you, but some location managers are “sticks in the mud” and won’t do it because they can’t provide the nutritional facts for a root beer float.
Well Done CrissCut Fries
This is another copycat of the In-N-Out secret menu, where you can ask for many variations of fry-doneness.
At CFA, ask for these by name and you’ll get them sent out to you HOT and very CRISPY.

As a Chick-fil-A employee, I have not heard of half of these. Don’t ask for this stuff because we don’t even know how to make it. And we won’t put sauce on your sandwich for you. However, ask for oreo pieces in your frosted coffee or strawberry in your frosted lemonade and we will make it for you. Both are very good.
it wouldn’t be secret if every employee knew about it….
It’s only secret to the customer why would not tell the employees they need to make money off those items secret or not trust if employees dont know than that means it was just internet rumor but jersey mikes has secret item menus
Guess u need to be employed there for more then a week to learn because I have no problem getting a buffalo chicken sandwich and a blueberry cheese cake milkshake
Your stores are probably in different locations. I also haven’t heard of most of these because our store doesn’t sell some of these things.
We don’t even have any sort of cake in our store
Ok thank you so much
I’m a Chick-fil-A employee and I’ve got to say some of these are helpful but not all locations sell the same things. They didn’t include it on here but they also sell cheese sauce at some locations. It’s not just a Chick-fil-A thing, Wendy’s, McDonald’s, Burger King, they all do it too. Some employees also just don’t know so if they say they can’t find it tell them to “red Flag” it. I just tried the root beer float today and it was excellent. In the end it all just depends on the employees and the store.
Ya
I don’t know where you’re eating your CFA, but they are going against corporate guidelines. Off-menu is not a standard practice.
Yes, you can order strips on a market salad (not a secret), and our CFA does make Oreo in a frosted coffee & frosted strawberry lemonade, but we don’t carry cheesecake and definitely cannot put a cc cookie in your milkshake.
I tried ordering the quesidilla this evening and was told they do not serve them. But I know I have heard others order it at my location before, so I guess all their workers need to be informed.
At most locations you could probably only do it before 10:30 while breakfast is still being served because after that they no longer have tortillas available. Also all locations are. Operator owned and do things differently. I have never heard of these iteams before today.
We actually have tortillas all day, they are used to make the grilled wraps.
They have wraps, so they have tortillas.
For breakfast you can get a biscuit with sausage gravy. Just ask. Sometimes they have to get the gravy ready so be patient.
Currently we don’t have sausage gravy. It was discontinued, sorry for the inconvenience .
We don’t even sell cheesecake at the location I work at, or grilled cheese.
Went to the storw in Wallingford ct…ordered a gravy biscuit…was told ” we dont serv that at this location any more ”
WTF-ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

I am an operations director at chick fil a. We don’t offer many of these items. Reason being most of these would be hard to charge the correct amount. Remember all business are there to make money. We would never offer most of these items as there is no way to charge for them and we would never take a loss on any items. Most restaurant don’t have cheesecakes so that’s would not work. The fried club is just a deluxe with bacon on a wheat bun minus the pickles. Not rally a secret item. So feel free to order but I will tell you we don’t or won’t sell that item the way.
As a Chick-fil-A employee for more than 3 years at two different locations/states “the secret menu” does not exist. Don’t get me wrong, certain locations may or may not have all of the ingredients to make your so called “secret menu” though it depends on the operator as it is a franchise. Many customers do not understand that concept and it is very redundant to have to explain/inform the term operator and franchise. Some locations are extremely high in volume and in need of efficient service therefor making your complicated “quesadilla” or “cookie milkshake” is very time consuming so please don’t ask for a “secret menu” Thanks to everyone who understands this. 🙂
Quit being a bitch
She’s not being a bitch and she’s trying to properly explain the situation to a lot of misinformed people
Exactly.
It’s time-consuming helping a customer get what they really want? It’s just a cookie in a shake how hard is that or a better question is how lazy are you?
Entitled customers like you are the problem, we don’t have to go out of our way to make something that isn’t on the menu for you. It’s not about laziness it’s about quality control. Want it on the menu? Contact corporate. Put your own damn cookie in your shake, and don’t treat people who definitely don’t get paid enough to deal with your shit attitude, like they are less than you.
How come none of these so called “employees” said My Pleasure when providing their replies. Hmmmmmmmm
Because no one said “Thank You.”
Damn you gotta be harsh to the customer you’re actually having the “Shit attitude”
I doubt u actually are employed there because a professional cfa employee would never represent their company in the way you are, you being rude af to customers while representing the company. Come on now
These aren’t really secret items though…I mean we can make your order just about however you want it if you ask. But most people ( at my store at least) don’t know these items so if you wanna order them your going to have to explain how you want it.
But at my store we make bacon cheddar and ranch fries upon request and I like them also I hear the regular nuggets and creamy salsa taste great together!
So you mean none of the chick-fil-a’s have dog biscuits? Bummer
No Chick-fil- A does have biscuits it just depends on the location
Actually, I have been offered dog biscuits at the drive thru when I have my dogs in the car with me. It’s been several years, tho, so it might not be the case anymore, and it might have just been that location.
There is no CFA secret menu, this is coming from an actual employee
Please include a Chicken Pot Pie
Is this a thing? Have you ordered it successfully? How do they make it?
cfa does not sell chicken pot pie. as an employee, i can say there is no proper way to ring it up and therefore the kitchen staff cannot make it and serve it
Ordering your fries ‘well done’ will get them nice and crisp
When will you offer the Hot Brown? Best item they’ve ever had! Please offer it!!!
Some locations have caramel sauce better than most!!!
We also do a cheese sauce at our locations, it’s really good!
I’m a Chick Fil a employee and would like to add my input on each of these items. First though, two disclaimers. An A indicates we can do it, a F indicates we can’t.
Disclaimer 1: we don’t have a “secret menu” where you just walk up and we ring something up on our POS. It’s generally a combination of multiple items, thus making it slightly inconvenient for us. We’re happy to make it for you if we can, but keep in mind that these items will generally carry longer waits and higher prices. The high prices are because sometimes we have to ring up two different entrees to make your items since we have no other way to ring it up.
Disclaimer 2: as others have said, all locations are independently operated and thus slightly different. My input is for my specific location, although most will be similar.
(F) Blueberry cheesecake milkshake: we can’t do this. We don’t serve any kind of cheesecake at our location and I believe not many locations do any more.
(A) Buffalo chicken sandwich: although we don’t actually put sauce on sanwhiches for you, your welcome to order a spicy chicken sandwich and some buffalo sauce and put the sauce on it yourself to create this.
(A/F) Chicken quesadilla: We may or may not be able to depending on who takes your order and who’s in the kitchen that day. Most employees don’t have knowledge of this item though and most kitchen staff don’t know how to make it, so a lot of the time we can’t do this.
(A) Cookie Milkshake: If you order both a milkshake and a chocolate chunk sookie, we would be glad to blend the cookie in for you, keep in mind it might take longer to make depending on how busy we are and how busy the person on desserts is.
(F) Dog Biscuits: Our location doesn’t have these to give out but I can’t speak for all locations.
(A) Free ice dream: you can trade your toy for a free ice dream on any kids meal!
(A) Fried chicken club: Basically a CFA deluxe with Colby jack cheese and a wheat bun so yea we can do this.
(A/F) grilled cheese: we don’t actually have normal bread to make a grilled cheese, but if you just want to buns with a slice of cheese on it you can.
(A) root beer float: ask for a frosted root beer, we blend together ice cream and root beer to make a root beer float.
(A) spicy char: Again, basically a spicy deluxe with your choice of cheese and a wheat bun.
(A) well done fries: The one thing we do actually have a button for, just ask for your fries well done!
If y’all have any other questions about what we can and can’t serve feel free to reply to this. It was my pleasure to inform y’all about this!
Yes, exactly. The kids meal toy swap is standard for all locations. I’m also in the same boat with the cheesecake shake. We have certain add ins for shakes and we don’t have a cheesecake one. But I will say that sometimes they can be special seasonal shakes. Some locations don’t have dog biscuits but if you get a nice employee they usually will give you whipped cream in an ice dream cup for dogs.
Dang this is so cool but I think it is fake
