PRO TIP: ALWAYS CHECK YOUR RECEIPT
Before you leave Hobby Lobby, check your receipt to make sure your items were rung up correctly and you got the sale price. Because items go “on and off” sale so frequently, they’re notorious for having a system that can’t keep up and often you won’t get the sale price when you should have. Check your receipt and head back to the register if something doesn’t look right.

We will add to this list as we learn more.
What Type of “Percentage Off” Can We Expect?
Most sale items are at least 30% off.
Depending on the specific time of year or day, you can often expect to save anywhere from 30%-50% off items, item dependent of course.
PRO TIP: CAREFULLY READ SALE SIGNS
Many “Sale” signs at Hobby Lobby are deceptive. They often place signage directly above or near a product, but the sign doesn’t actually apply. You NEED to read the fine print to make sure the item you want is actually on sale. Otherwise, you stand a good chance of being disappointed when your items are rung up and your total is much higher than you were expecting.

When Does Yarn Go On Sale?
My mom LOVES to crochet and make scarves for the entire family.
So much so that I have enough scarves to wear a different one each day of winter, or so it feels.
So when writing this article, I asked her where she buys her yarn, and she said, “Only when it’s on sale at Hobby Lobby”.
I then asked her how she knows when it’s on sale, and she said, “from following my friends at r/Crochet on Reddit“.
She said members always “drop the knowledge” on when yarn is about to go on sale and their insider tips save her 75%.
On a side-note, I still can’t believe my mom has the Reddit app on her iPhone, but it’s obviously saving her money, so more power to her.

Ask the Reader: How do you save money at Hobby Lobby? Do you know something about their sale schedule that I missed?

I started Rather-Be-Shopping.com in 2000 and have become a consumer expert and advocate writing about out-of-the-box ways to save at stores like Amazon, Walmart, Target and Costco to name a few. Fabric is no longer always on sale and is now 40% off when it is. I discovered this on Monday 04/17/23 after having bought fabric on sale the previous Saturday. I returned to the store on Monday to get more, only to discover that it was not on sale. All the sale signs in that department were gone.
There are no coupons allowed or even made anymore.
How often do knobs go on sale???
When is upholstery on sale?
Hobby lobby doesn’t sell anything Halloween related fyi. I was looking last year and couldn’t find anyyyything Halloween themed, no Halloween section either. I asked a staff member who said that “HobLob doesn’t celebrate Halloween”.
I then remembered that it’s a “religious” company who hates us heathens who like Halloween lol
Edited to add: she then told me that they have face paint lol as if that is a substitute/Halloween item lolol
