Lululemon Return Policy: Let’s Muddle Thru the Confusion and Make Some Sense Of It

Just because I’m a dude that would never pay $58 for a t-shirt, doesn’t mean I don’t get the appeal to shopping at lululemon Atheltica. If the quality is as great as people claim and the clothing is super-comfortable, then it might be worth the money. But in any case, you’re probably here because you need to use the Lululemon return policy for one reason or another and you have questions that need to be answered. So with that in mind, here is everything you need to know about their return policy so you can make your next return a moisture wicking breeze.

Lululemon Return Policy: Let's Muddle Thru the Confusion and Make Sense Of It

How Many Return Days Does Lululemon Offer?

30 days.

Lululemon gives you 30 days from date of purchase to return an item for a full refund.

For an online order you have 30 days from the actual delivery date.

Are ALL Returns Free?

Yes.

Whether making an in-store return, or returning an online purchase via the mail, they are both completely FREE of charge.

WILL LULU ACCEPT MY RETURN IF ITEM IS NOT IN-STOCK?

If you’re trying to return something in-store within 30 days, YES the store will take it back for a refund or store credit, it does NOT matter if they currently have the product in-stock or not.

Can Clothing Be Worn?

They ask that the item is unworn, unwashed, and has tags still attached.

From what I’ve heard, your mileage could vary on this a little bit if you removed the tags and wear the item and later discover a manufacturing defect.

In this case, you stand a good chance of getting your money back or an “even exchange” at the very least.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN TRYING TO RETURN CLOTHING THAT’S BEEN WASHED?

Once you wash something, the only way you can return the item is if the color fades or it shrinks substantially. Then it will fall under the Lululemon “Quality Promise” in which case you can get either an exact replacement or store credit.

What If I Lost My Receipt?

If you misplace your receipt you should still be able to make a return…in most cases.

Specifically, if you gave them your phone number when checking out IN-STORE, they’ll be able to pull up your transaction history.

I asked a live chat rep from Lululemon what happens if you didn’t tell the employee your phone number…can you still make a return without a receipt?

I was told it will “be up to the store’s discretion if they would be willing to return for store credit. Any time you purchased something in store, they ask for your phone number. This would lead to your profile.”

So get in the habit of being “okay” with giving them your phone number as it’ll make the return process much easier.

For an online purchase, you can access your order history, and online invoice, within your online Lululemon account.

How Do I Make a Lulu “LikeNew” Return?

When returning items bought through the Lululemon LikeNew website, things work a little differently.

In particular, you CANNOT return these items in-store, you need to visit the LikeNew Return Portal and start your return that way.

Be sure to have your Order Number handy in order to get your return authorization number as well as further instructions.

Are Any Clothing Items Excluded from the Policy?

Only Final Sale Items are excluded from their 30 day return policy.

The chat rep I spoke with said that all “marked down items” are considered final sale and non-returnable.

So…apparently if you’re buying something from Lululemon that isn’t sold at full-price you CANNOT return it.

That seems crazy! Is this correct? Does anyone know the real truth?

Before you ask…they WILL accept a return on swimwear as long as the hygienic liner is still in-place.

Also, it’s worth noting that gift cards as well as “we made too much” items are also considered final sale.

What’s the Policy on Defective Items?

From commenter Becky, when trying to return deflective items via the mail it’s a MAJOR headache.

They asked her for at least 3 pictures of the defective item and she still had to go back and forth with an “educator” to get them to approve the return.

Apparently the stitching was falling apart on $68 pair of shorts and it took her nearly a month to get her money back on a gift card.

Moral of the story: If at all possible, take defective items back to the store where you bought them and deal with the issue face-to-face as you’ll surely get better results.

What Is a “Fast Track” Return?

A Fast Track return is when you get credited within 2 hours of dropping off your return at a FedEx or USPS location.

Only returns that contain 3 items or less are eligible and you’ll be refunded via a Lululemon e-gift card to your email inbox.

The e-gift card is the ONLY return option available with Fast Track and it can be used in-store or online and they NEVER expire.

When you login to your Lululemon account, you’ll see the Fast Track Return option displayed if you’re eligible for this “quick money” return.

How Do I Return or Exchange a Gift?

You can either take the item back to a store (with your gift receipt) or hit up a live chat operator and they can help you out if you’re unable to get to an actual Lululemon Athletica location.

Can I Do an Exchange Online?

No.

You can only do an exchange in-store at a Lululemon location.

Can I Do an Exchange on Final Sale Items?

Yes, but you must be an Essential Member.

Join for free and you can exchange sale items as well as return them for store credit.

As long as the store has the item you want to exchange in-stock, it shouldn’t be a problem.

Item you’re bringing back must be new and still have the original tags on it.

This also applies to online purchases.

How Is a PayPal Return Processed?

Lululemon is currently unable to process a return via PayPal if you originally used the payment service to make a purchase.

They will however apply a credit on a PayPal return in the form of a gift card, Visa, American Express, or MasterCard.

Does Lululemon Have a Holiday Return Policy?

Yes.

Anything purchased between October 5th and December 24th can be returned all the way until January 22nd.

I’m a huge fan of taking advantage of price match policies when retailers allows it. And guess what? Nordstrom absolutely allows it and it’s a big part of their tradition of great customer service. So I figured it was time to take a deep dive into the Nordstrom price match policy and figure out exactly how it works. I hope this helps you get some money back.

Nordstrom Price Match Policy: Everything You Need to Know

Does Nordstrom Offer a Price Match?

Yes, but it’s a bit muddy, especially when trying to figure out which stores they’ll actually price match.

This is why I wanted to write this article and set the record straight.

What Stores Does Nordstrom Price Match?

Surprisingly, I couldn’t find an answer to this question ANYWHERE so I hit up Nordstrom live chat and asked.

Turns out Nordstrom ONLY price matches the following 10 retailers:

1- Amazon (must be sold & shipped by Amazon)

2- Bloomingdale’s

3- East Dane

4- Macy’s

5- Mr. Porter

6- Neiman Marcus

7- Net-A-Porter

8- ShopBop

9- Saks Fifth Avenue

10- Zappos

How Many Days Do You Have to Get a Price Adjustment?

14 days.

If you find a lower price for up to 14 days after your purchase you can request a price match.

This can be done either in-store or via their web portal HERE.

Do I Need My Receipt to Make it Happen?

For in-store purchases you need to request the price match at time of purchase or by bringing in your receipt at a later date.

So…yes, you NEED your receipt as proof of purchase.

What Are the Specifics of their Policy?

In order to get a Nordstrom price match you need to meet the following 4 criteria.

  1. Item must be identical.
  2. Must be in-stock at select competitor.
  3. Bring in the current ad of the competitor, or a clickable link to the product on your smartphone as evidence of the lower price.
  4. Only 1 price match per item.

Are There Any Exceptions to Their Policy?

Yes, quite a few actually…

– Limited-Time Sale – If something goes on sale, even for a short period of time, you cannot get the lower price.

– Final or Closeout Items – Instead, try and return the item at full price then rebuy it at the lower price.

– Order-level discounts – Not sure what this means, does anyone know? Leave a comment below and fill me in.

– Designer Brands purchased at a discount – If you already bought it “on sale” you can’t get a price match on top of that.

– Gift card promotions – If Nordstrom is having a deal on gift cards and selling them for less than face value you can’t get a price match if you bought a gift card before the deal started.

– Shipping offers – This one is kind of obvious.

– Items from the outlet – This includes stuff bought from Nordstrom Rack.

– Flash sales – Can’t get a price match if you originally bought the item during a Flash Sale.

– Auction & Club Retailers – They won’t price match places like Costco, Sam’s Club or eBay.com.

– Regional and non-U.S.-based retailers.

Can I Get a Price Adjustment on Stuff That Goes on Sale?

No.

Nordstrom is famous for offering anniversary sales, limited-time savings, and “extra savings” events.

Unfortunately you CAN’T get a price-match on stuff bought before “the specific discount time period”.

Can I Get an Online Price Match?

Yes.

Unlike many online retailers, Nordstrom allows you to get an online price match when you shop their website.

As mentioned earlier, they have a webpage set up to start the process.

You just enter your order number and zip code and they’ll look up your purchase and help you get the price match.

Anything Else I Need to Know?

Yes!

Here are a couple more juicy tidbits that might be useful.

  1. According to some Nordstrom shoppers, they’ll price match J.Crew as well.
  2. I’ve also heard that you can use Nordstrom Live Chat to get a price match which in many cases will save you a trip to the store.

Let me know if you have more insider tips that I can share.

Ask the Reader: What’s been your experience with the price match policy at Nordstrom? Let me know in the comments, thanks!

Amazon Coupon Hack: Split Up Purchases and Maximize Savings

Updated June 20, 2024 by Kyle James

As I’ve written about in the past, Amazon coupons are a strange bunch. Not only does the brain trust at Amazon make them hard to find but they require you to click the little button to have them added to your purchase. But what I discovered recently about their coupons was a real head-scratcher and I’m curious if any of you have had a similar experience, please leave me a comment if you have. Here’s a quick breakdown of what happened and a simple workaround hack to ensure you ALWAYS save the most money on Amazon.

Amazon Coupon Hack: Split Up Purchases and Maximize Savings

First, the Product in Question…

After some break-ins in my neighborhood I knew it was time to buy a couple security cameras for my home.

So after some research, I settled on the security camera in the screenshot above from Amazon.

The $20 coupon on the $49.99 camera kinda sold me, not gonna lie.

$30 bucks for a camera that does EVERYTHING I need it to do is a pretty sweet deal.

I Wanted Two Cameras, So I Added Both to My Cart

BIG mistake.

Luckily, I happened to notice that only ONE $20 coupon was applied to my order.

I was expecting the coupon to be automatically added to both cameras for a savings of $40.

Turns out that is NOT how Amazon coupons work.

The Simple Solution…

So I knew there must be a quick workaround for this problem.

I started with the simplest solution and just created two separate orders and sure enough it worked.

The $20 coupon was added to each camera purchase and I was good-to-go.

Since I’m a Prime member I qualified for free shipping and I’m guessing both cameras will probably be delivered in the same box even though it’s technically two separate purchases.

Turns out this was an easy “Amazon coupon hack” that saved me a quick $20 with virtually no extra work on my part.

See Also: Always Check Quantity Pricing as Amazon Is Probably Messing With You

The Quick Math:

If I had completed my order and not noticed the $20 coupon was only added once I would have paid about $40 per camera.

But by placing two separate orders, and adding the $20 coupon to EACH, I paid only $30 per camera.

Pretty impressive math skills on my part, eh?

Moral of the Story?

When buying more than one of an item, and using a coupon, break it up into separate purchases.

If you’re NOT an Amazon Prime member, and the item sells for $35 (or more) and thus qualifies for free shipping, it makes sense to place 2 separate orders.

If the item sells for less than $35 you’ll want to factor in shipping costs and do the math on whether or not it’s worth it to use the coupon on 2 separate orders.
