The Wendy’s Secret Menu Will Make You Crave a Square Burger

The Wendy’s secret menu is a very interesting one. While it’s not incredibly long and diverse, the burgers on it pack quite the punch in terms of size and flavor. The next time you step into your local Wendy’s consider one of these secret menu items and you just might be in for a tasty square burger surprise. Or maybe a burger so large you can share it with an entire wrestling team.

The Wendy's Secret Menu Will Make You Crave a Square Burger

The Barnyard Burger

The most appropriate name for any secret menu item ever.

Order “The Barnyard” of the Wendy’s secret menu and you’ll get a burger with bacon, beef patty, spicy chicken patty, and ham with a layer of cheese between each meat.

Add some lettuce and tomato if you’re feeling a bit healthy.

According to commenter Diana, if you get a blank stare when you order it, order a “single cheeseburger then tell them you want a spicy patty on top on the beef patty.”

Asiago Beef Burger

This is the regular Asiago Chicken sandwich with apple wood smoked bacon, but instead of chicken it comes with a beef patty.

Sounds weird but it’s suppose to be quite delicious with the Asiago cheese and ranch sauce.

PRO TIP: LIKE SPICY CHICKEN AND NACHOS?

For some next level chicken nuggets, order the regular Spicy Chicken Nuggets and add an order of chili, cheese sauce and some sour cream and ranch.

I had an employee tell me about this one recently, apparently titled the “Spicy Nugget Nachos”, and on a whim I created it myself, and it was a definite explosion of flavors in my mouth.

Spicy Asiago Chicken Sandwich

Thanks to loyal reader Erik for this tip.

Order this bad-boy and you’ll get the regular Asiago Chicken sandwich but with the spicy chicken patty.

According to Eric, the spicy chicken and sweet smoked bacon go great together.

Grand Slam Burger

4 is the magic number with the Grand Slam burger.

As in 4 square beef patties sandwiched between 2 slices of cheese and of course a bun.

If you’re feeling really daring, you can ask for a slice of cheese between each patty. Also, some folks will garnish the top with a couple leaves of lettuce.

If the Wendy’s employee has no idea what you’re talking about, try ordering the 1 lb quadruple burger.

Meat Cube

The Meat Cube is the same thing as the Grand Slam mentioned above.

Personally, the name kind of grosses me out so I’d order the Grand Slam burger instead.

Quadruple Baconator

Order this Wendy’s secret menu item and you’ll get 4 beef patties with 3 pieces of bacon between each patty.

Make it healthy with some lettuce and tomato added as well.

You can also order it as a quad burger with bacon, but the baconator sounds so much cooler.

Thanks to Wendy’s employee, Michael, for setting me straight on the amount of bacon between each patty.

T. Rex

This is a nine patty high burger with of course nine slices of cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, onions and pickles, and an overwhelmed single bun.

The burger has become Internet folklore in recent years and many Wendy’s won’t make it, but it never hurts to ask.

From a commenter, the best way to order it is to ask for a “triple cheese and add 6 patties on top of that with cheese.”

This sucker will cost you about $22 give or take a buck or two.

Jurassic Burger

The Jurassic burger is the same as the T. Rex above but with 10 patties instead of nine.

I’m guessing this burger is for those who like their ridiculously large burgers in groups of 10.

Save at Ulta Beauty: Some REALLY Smart Ways to Make it Happen

Updated February 10, 2025 by Kyle James

Ulta Beauty recently opened a store in my hometown. Being a dude, I had never heard of Ulta until I saw their sign being erected at the local shopping mall. After a bit of research, I quickly discovered that Ulta is a huge phenomenon and an incredibly popular beauty store in the United States. WAY bigger than Sephora and Sally Beauty Supply combined. Because of the Ulta craze, I figured it was time to write an article with some insider ways to save money.

Some Ridiculously Easy Ways to Save Money at Ulta Beauty

Get Deals Sent to Your Inbox

While I’m not a huge fan on signing up for retailers email list, Ulta is a definite exception.

By signing up at the bottom of their homepage you’ll get new deals and exclusives sent to you a few times a week. The best part is they’ll send you special offers and coupons that you’ll only get by signing-up.

If you shop at Ulta regularly, it’s a great way to be kept in-the-know.

PRO TIP: ASK FOR FREE SAMPLES AT CHECKOUT

The next time you’re standing at the Ulta checkout counter, politely ask the store associate if they have a free sample or two they can hand out.

According to Ulta loyalists, you stand a 80-90% chance of scoring some cool freebies just for asking. It’s a great way to try out new beauty products without having to spend a dime.

Shop Online on Wednesdays

Ulta Beauty Breaks

Every Wednesday from 10am-4pm CT, Ulta offers something called a “Beauty Break” for online shoppers.

By visiting the Ulta homepage during that time period you’ll score a bunch of cool free gifts.

Don’t Ignore the Ulta Rewards Program

Known as the Ultamate Rewards, it’s a completely free program that will definitely save you money.

Have you ever seen someone shop at Ulta with a coupon good for $3.50 off your $15 purchase? Odds are the rewards program is how they got it.

The program works by building up points via your online and in-store purchases. You can then redeem your points on ANY product that Ulta has in-stock.

One dollar spent equals one point. But you’ll be notified via email when specific products will earn you 2x, 3x or even 5x bonus points.

Oh, by the way, the Ultamate program will also send you a free gift on your birthday.

PRO TIP: LET THOSE POINTS BUILD UP

If you’re planning to spend a significant amount at Ulta, maximize your rewards by saving your points and letting them build up.

I had a very helpful employee tell me that the best redemption value comes at 2,000 points, which gives you $125 off.

Redeeming smaller amounts, like 100 points at a time, only adds up to $60 for the same 2,000 points.

She also told me that once you hit Platinum status ($500 spend per year), your points will NEVER expire.

Double Dip an Ulta Coupon

Ulta 20% off coupon

3-5 times per year Ultamate members will be sent a coupon good for 20% off your entire order.

But did you know that you can use this coupon BOTH online and in-store?

The coupon has a separate code for online and in-store use. So first use the online code via the Ulta website, then take it in-store and save 20% yet again.

The Ibotta App Has Ulta Rebates

Ulta on Ibotta

If you’re not using the Ibotta app to save at Ulta Beauty you’re leaving money on the table.

While most shoppers think of Ibotta for grocery items, they have a cool section for retail stores and Ulta is at the top of their list.

At the time of this writing Ibotta is offering 13 rebates that range from $2 to $4 back on specific items.

Get in the habit of checking Ibotta after you shop at Ulta as you stand a great chance of being able to redeem a rebate and get some money in your pocket.

Look for Free Gifts and ALWAYS Keep Them

Ulta Free Gifts

Whether it’s an in-store promotion that lands you a free gift with purchase, or any other free Ulta offer, it’s yours to keep even if you return the item you paid for.

Takeaway: Always buy the item that lands you the free gift or samples. You can always return the item later if you have no need for it.

Check Out The Ulta Online Ad

For some reason the Ulta online weekly ad is kind of hard to find.

But when you click on this link you’ll get access to all the newest and latest deals.

So if you know you’re heading to Ulta this week check out the ad first so you know where to find all the deals once you walk into the store.

Get Cashback at Ulta Beauty

Ulta on Rakuten Cashback

Be sure you go through a cashback site before you do any shopping on the Ulta website.

By doing so you’ll get an easy 2-4% back on your entire purchase. Think of it as free money on shopping you’d be doing anyways.

Here are a few cashback sites that I recommend:

Any other cashback sites that you like to use?

Never Pay Full Price for Ulta Gift Cards

Another clever way to save at Ulta Beauty is to buy Ulta gift card’s for less than face value.

For example, right now at Card Depot.com you can save up to 13.5% on Ulta gift cards.

Typically the larger the gift card dollar amount, the bigger the savings.

Ulta Takes Manufacturer Coupons

If you’re a loyal Ulta shopper you’re probably aware that they also accept manufacturer coupons in-store.

But many casual Ulta shoppers probably have no clue.

Before you shop at Ulta check out a site like Coupons.com and print out any manufacturer coupons.

Brands to look for include Maybelline, Olay, Clairol, L’Oreal Paris, and Neutrogena.

Download the Ulta App

Once you download the free Ulta app you’ll have access to fun features like the Glamlab, but more importantly some cool ways to save.

Namely weekly coupons like $3.50 off $15 or more as well as deals on specific brands and product lines.

By having the app on your phone you can quickly access it when standing in the checkout line and have the Ulta cashier scan your $3.50 off coupon.

Know the Awesome Ulta Return Policy

The Ulta return policy is darn impressive and worth knowing.

Basically you have 60 days from the date of purchase to return the item FOR ANY REASON.

This means you can take home the beauty product, use it for a day for a two and bring it back it you don’t like it or have an allergic reaction to it.

Just be sure to keep your receipt and all original components.

Target Return Policy: Smart Tips That Even Target Won’t Tell You

Updated February 10, 2025 by Kyle James

The Target return policy has some interesting twists to it that are worth your attention, especially if you shop there regularly. Do you need a receipt? Should you ever return products at Target you bought online via the mail? Are there any exceptions to their policy? You got MANY questions, so I went out and talked to Target associates and even an assistant manager and got REAL answers for ya.

Target Return Policy: Smart Tips and Brilliant Hacks to Make It Work For You

Target’s baseline return policy allows you to return unopened items within 90 days of original purchase date.

UPDATE 11/19/24: Target now stipulates that they reserve the right to deny your return or exchange if they suspect you of “return fraud or abuse”. This is a new development and something that I breakdown later in this article when talking about Target owned brands like Cat & Jack.

A Receipt Is Not Absolutely Necessary

They can actually look up your order if you made the purchase via the Target REDcard, Visa, MasterCard, AmEx, Discover, personal check, or Target Gift Card (you gotta still have the gift card).

See Also: All the Stores That Allow You to Return Items Without a Receipt

PRO TIP: USE THEIR EXTENDED HOLIDAY RETURN POLICY

For all purchases made between October 6th – December 25th the return period will start on December 26th.

This means you basically have 90 days from December 26th to make your return. This essentially gives you until March 26th to make your return.

The exceptions to this are electronics (must be returned by January 26th), Apple products (must be returned by January 9th), and mobile phones (must be returned by January 8th).

They WILL Limit No-Receipt Returns

Target can limit returns without a receipt and they ABSOLUTELY WILL as part of their fraud prevention program.

Specifically, I had an assistant manger tell me that within a 1-year calendar period they allow you to make $100 worth of returns without a receipt (this used to be $150).

They’ll ask for your photo ID and track your returns that way, so it’s basically $100 per ID.

Once you reach the $100 limit, you CANNOT make any more returns without a receipt until time has passed.

PRO TIP: RECEIPT-LESS RETURNS HACK

From MJ in the comments section, “If you’re returning a few things at a time, the system places the limit, which may allow higher (number of items) at that moment.

Employees have alerted me to this, not really able to explain it, but encouraging me to try adding another item to my return. Earlier this year, I was able to return about $140 in total. That’s it till 2024.”

Target Let’s You Keep Some Items You Try to Return

Target let me keep something I returned

Amazon was actually the first large online retailer to start doing this on occasion.

When buying stuff on Target.com, you stand a chance of Target telling you to keep the item and they’ll still give you a full refund.

This happens when the cost of return shipping and handling is more than the item is worth.

It can also happen when Target no longer sells the item or it’s been discontinued.

THE STUFF AT TARGET THEY’LL TELL YOU TO KEEP

A few of the Target items that I’ve been told will trigger the system to tell you to keep it and still give you a FULL refund include the following:

  • iPhone cases
  • Food items
  • Outdated small electronics
  • Some clothing items valued at less tan $10

Paid With Cash and Lost Your Receipt?

In most cases, you’re only out-of-luck if you make a purchase at Target with cash AND you lose your receipt.

BUT…if you sign up for the free Target Circle Rewards program they can look up your order, even when you pay with cash.

Thanks to commenter Casey, “If you are a member, (which is free) and you input your phone number or scan your barcode for every purchase, you will never have to worry about a lost receipt again.

Every purchase is saved. It’s the best, and I wish every store would do this! As an added bonus, you also get money back on every purchase by being a member, so it’s really a win win!”

Thanks Casey, that’s a GREAT tip.

Can’t Get Immediate Cash Refund on a Cash Purchase

You actually have to wait 24 hours to get cash back from the original store of purchase.

Or an even exchange. Or a gift card.

I was told by an employee that this is because it takes 24 hours for your purchase to register in Target’s system.

But…you can drive to a different Target location immediately and get a cash return.

Thanks Jamie for the heads up on this.

I think she summed it up best when she said “Moral to the story… don’t drive away and change your mind.”

WARNING: ONLINE RETURN WINDOW STARTS AT INVOICING

Be warned that when making an online purchase from Target, your return window starts once the order has been invoiced and ANY PART of your order has been shipped.

So it’s not 90 days from delivery date, as is the case with most online sellers. So if you’re one to procrastinate your returns, you actually have less than 90 days from when you receive your order.

Can I Return Items and Rebuy Them If They Go On Sale?

This question comes from Bridget in the comments section.

She overbought some stuff and went to return them at Target (unopened and with her receipt) but then wanted to rebuy a few of the items as they were now on clearance.

One Target location let her do it no problem, and another REFUSED her “re-purchase” and told her she would have to come back the next day to buy the items if they were still available.

The 2nd store is TOTALLY in the wrong as this is essentially a price adjustment which Target encourages.

Bridget thought maybe the employees wanted first dibs on the items by not allowing the re-purchase.

In any case, Bridget did nothing wrong and the store should have let her rebuy the items on the spot.

The Exceptions to the 90 Days

1. Opened music, movies, video games and software – You CAN’T return these items but you can exchange them for the same title within 90 days.

2. Opened airbeds – No dice, you’re stuck with it unless you want to exchange it for the same, or similar, bed.

3. Electronics and entertainment items – You have 30 days, not 90, to make a full return or exchange.

4. Drones – You only have 14 days to get your drone out of the sky and return it to Target for an exchange or refund.

5. Gasoline powered stuff – You can return it “in-store only” within 90 days but you gotta take all the gas out of it first or they won’t take it back.

6. Trading Cards – No returns allowed for Pokémon and trading cards, as well as accessories.

7. Opened breast pumps – Try selling it on eBay because Target won’t take it back.

Also, it’s worth noting that NO international returns or exchanges of any kind will be accepted.

PRO TIP: EXCHANGING DIAPERS FOR A BIGGER SIZE

If you have an unopened box of diapers, even if they were not originally bought from Target, you can exchange them for a different size AS LONG as Target sells that exact brand, pack size, and diaper size.

Without a receipt you’ll have to show your I.D. and they’ll track your returns so don’t overuse the lenient policy.

Can Alcohol Be Returned to Target?

Depends.

This is not a Target policy but rather a state law.

In other words, some states let you return alcohol and some don’t.

Here is a good list of Alcohol Return Laws by State so you can check what your state allows.

What About Returning Food?

Target Food Return Policy

I wasn’t sure about this so I started a live chat session and asked.

I was told YES, you can return food, opened or unopened, within 90 days of purchase with your receipt.

I originally asked about protein powder that was opened and the chat rep said “Yes”.

I then asked about all other food items and was told those are returnable as well.

So knowing this you are apparently free to try grocery items at Target and return them if you don’t like them.

Target-Owned Brands Have a 1-Year Return Policy

Target owned brands, and there are over 40 of them, are returnable within an astounding 1 year of the purchase date.

This return policy is especially impressive when talking about their kids and baby clothing line, Cat & Jack’s, as they’ll take back clothing that’s been worn and abused for up to 365 days.

It doesn’t matter if the item is opened or used, Target will take back their exclusive brands BUT this is where Target is buckling down on fraudulent returners and now reserves the right to deny your return.

Turns out some Facebook and TikTok influencers are actually suggesting you abuse their policy and return Cat & Jack clothing that your kids have simply outgrown. Consider yourself warned, Target is trying to crack down on these types of returns.

Here are all the Target brands that are eligible for the 1 year return window:

Target Brands

Returning Opened or Damaged Items

Not a problem….usually.

If the product is still eligible for a return, you can bring it back to Target for an exchange or refund in most cases.

Target does reserve the right the deny or refuse a refund on opened items.

They don’t say specifically what circumstances would trigger this, but I’m guessing it would have to do with excessive returns or fraud by the customer.

Returning Clearance Items to Target

Target Clearance Sticker

Yes, you can also return clearance items to Target.

The only thing you can’t do with a clearance item is get a price adjustment if the price of the item dropped even further.

Use the REDCard to Get a Longer Return Window

Would you be stoked to get a return window of 120 days rather than the standard 90 days?

If so, you should consider applying for the Target REDcard (debit or credit card) as it comes with an extra 30 day return window.

Target Return Policy “Insider Hacks”…

What would this article be without a few smart hacks to maximize your Target “return experience”.

1. Purchases on Target.com.

Don’t return items you bought online via snail mail.

Instead, just take the product back to your local Target and get ‘er done in a few minutes with no hassles.

Otherwise, you’re going to have pay return shipping fees unless the reason for the return was an error by Target.

2. Want to Return Beauty Products to Target?

Not a problem, you can even return makeup that’s been opened and used within 90 days of purchase.

3. Gift Registry Items.

Items from gift registries (like baby & wedding) can be returned within an astounding 1 year.

The year starts from the date of the event, not the date of purchase.

Don’t have the receipt? No worries.

Just print out the “Gifts Purchased” list from your online registry and it’ll work just like a receipt.
