Walmart Receipt Must-Do’s That’ll Earn You Free Cash
The next time you leave Walmart DON’T toss your receipt in the nearest garbage bin. Instead whip out your smartphone and use these highly clever apps to earn some free cash from your receipt just for shopping at Walmart. Here’s everything you need to know to make it happen.
First, Scan Your Receipt With Fetch
Similar to Ibotta, the Fetch app only requires you to scan your Walmart receipt and they do the rest of the dirty work.
In a short few months I’ve already earned over $35 in free Amazon gift cards with Fetch.
From their website, “All you need to do is snap a picture of your receipt and points will be put into your account. It is that easy.”
Use those points for free gift cards to hundreds of places like Amazon, Target, Walmart, Best Buy, American Eagle, Bed Bath & Beyond, or even a Visa Cash Card.
Also keep in mind that Fetch works on all store receipts, not just Walmart.
FETCH SIGN-UP BONUS
Enter our exclusive referral code RATHER when you sign-up for Fetch and get 1,000 free points after you snap your first receipt.

Next, Scan Your Receipt With ibotta
Once you have your Walmart receipt in-hand, be sure to download the Ibotta app and scan the barcode at the bottom.
The app will automatically examine your receipt, what you bought, and match any qualifying offers.
If it finds any offers it’ll pay you for them and add the money to your Ibotta account. You’ll be surprised how many offers Ibotta will find and your balance will start to build up.
You’ll get the cash added to your Ibotta account within 48 hours which you can redeem via PayPal as soon as your balance reaches $20.
I’ve been using Ibotta for a few years and have earned well over $350 just on my Walmart purchases.
It’s also worth noting that Ibotta is NOT exclusive to Walmart and you can use it at pretty much ALL the stores you shop at, even Costco and Sam’s Club.
Love myself some Ibotta. Go check it out for yourself.

PRO TIP: LEVERAGE RECEIPTS FOR BUDGET TRACKING
Don’t forget that you can use your Walmart receipts to track spending and manage your budget.
By analyzing your purchase history, you can identify spending patterns and areas where you can cut costs.
Also, be sure to review your receipts for any itemized discounts or potential errors. Occasionally, promotions may not apply correctly, or items may be scanned multiple times. Identifying these issues can help you return to the store for corrections and refunds.
Last, Snap a Receipt Pic With Checkout 51
Just download the free Checkout51 app, pick the grocery rebates you like and save them to your list of rebates.
Then head out to do your grocery shopping just like you normally would at Walmart.
Once you buy the items on your rebate list you simply snap a pic of your Walmart receipt using the app.
Once verified, your account gets credited automatically.
As soon as your account reaches $20 you can cash out and they’ll mail you a check.
PRO TIP: ONE LAST THING TO DO WITH YOUR RECEIPTS
Donate your receipts to educational institutions. Some schools and educational programs collect receipts as part of fundraising efforts.
Donating your Walmart receipts can contribute to such causes, turning your shopping into community support.
Similar to programs like Box Tops for Education, certain local retailers or organizations use receipt collection as a way to direct funding to schools.
In these cases, specific purchases (e.g., certain brands or products) may contribute more to the total donation.
Some retailers, including regional Walmart stores, may allow receipts to count toward community grant programs. Schools collect receipts, which are tallied and submitted for funding consideration.
Reach out to your neighborhood schools or parent-teacher associations (PTAs) to ask if they have a receipt collection program in place.

I used Fetch successfully for quite a while until they suddenly closed/banned my account saying I had used a phony receipt. It was definitely NOT true but there is no way to appeal. I liked Fetch, very easy and you didn’t have to download certain items ahead of time and try to find those items in the stores etc. I’m really sorry they somehow didn’t believe the receipts I submitted were legit.
TY Sandra O. My mind started to go haywire on how I could pick up all the receipts littering the floor and parking lot. I was figuring, if I am picking up their trash, maybe I can make money with it. I’ll try. The least they can do is close my account, or what,… take away my birthday? ,’D
Did it work?
All my walmart receipts are online since I don’t go i to the store. I shop online and pick up groceries.
fetch and ibotta will use your online (walmart pickup) receipts if you’d like.
I use receipt pal. I’ve used it for almost a year now (sometimes I forget to put my receipts in) and I enough points to get a $50 gift card from Amazon or just a visa gift card. You can use any receipt not just walmart. The only thing is you only have about a week to scan your receipt.
